Inground Closing / Winter
It goes back to school time and fall upon us, so you know what that means! It 'almost time to close the pool for the season and the following data are needed to close the pool properly.
1 Approximately 3 to 5 days before the end of your pool, pool water balance is required for the following areas:
pH: 7.2 to 7.6
Alkalinity: 80 to 120 ppm
Calcium Hardness: 180 to 220 ppm
2 We thenshould shock the pool with a shock of chlorine or chlorine-free, if you prefer. 5 Lower the water level with the following guidelines:
- Vinyl Liner: Lower water 1 to 2 inches below the skimmer opening.

- Sprayed concrete / cement pool: 6 inches below the skimmer opening.
- Using automatic cover: the water level must not be less than that of the skimmer opening.
